Alex Rodriguez returns to the Sun-Times where he worked as a general assignment reporter and in 1999 was the paper’s deputy metro editor.
She joined the paper in 2017, leading it through new digital efforts and its conversion to nonprofit status as part of Chicago Public Media.
The Chicago Sunday Sun and Times was first published on Oct. 5, 1947.

The awards, handed out Friday, recognized a wide range of work by individual journalists and the newspaper’s entire staff.
Top reporting honors in the National Headliner Awards went to Tim Novak, Lauren FitzPatrick and Caroline Hurley and to Stephanie Zimmermann and Tom Schuba. Neil Steinberg was recognized for best local columns.
The noncash transfer will not be final until contracts are approved, but both media organizations said they hope to close on the deal by the end of the month.
The awards bestowed since December 2020 honor a wide range of work by individual journalists, the newspaper’s editorial board and the entire staff.
