Trucker dies in semi crash on Kennedy on Northwest Side

All lanes are back open after a semi that was hauling meat, crashed about 11:35 p.m. Wednesday near Belmont Avenue, state police said.

The driver of a semi truck hauling meat has died after a crash on the Kennedy Expressway on the city’s Northwest Side.

The truck overturned about 11:35 p.m. in the southbound lanes at Belmont Avenue blocking the local lanes, state police said.

The driver was transported to an area hospital an pronounce deceased, state police said.

As of 6:30 a.m., all lanes were back open, after earlier, southbound traffic was getting through using the two right lanes.
