One dead in wrong-way crash on Tri-State Tollway near Glenview

About 2 a.m. Wednesday, a passenger vehicle going south in the northbound lanes hit a box truck near Golf Road, Illinois State Police said.

A motorist driving the wrong way on the Tri-State Tollway crashed into a truck and died early Wednesday near Glenview, Illinois State Police said.

At about 2 a.m., the passenger vehicle was traveling south in the northbound lanes when it hit a box truck near Golf Road, state police said.

The wrong-way driver was dead on the scene, and the driver and passenger of the truck were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.

Northbound lanes remained closed as of 6:30 a.m., state police said.
