Trains on Metra’s Union Pacific-North line were running with delays Monday morning due to emergency track repairs in Evanston.

The delays were compounded when train no. 310, scheduled to arrive Chicago at 8:10 a.m., broke down near Fort Sheridan, according to an alert from the commuter rail agency. Metra said delays could be as long as 55 minutes.

The emergency track repairs affected inbound and outbound trains. Outbound trains would begin running to Kenosha starting at 10 a.m., Metra said. The repairs, near Evanston Main Street station, forced the cancellation of outbound trains 308, 392, 316, 320, 324, 326, and 334, Metra said.
