A Chicago man is facing charges after he allegedly threatened a public official through false bomb threats, Chicago police said.

Kenneth Weddington, 28, faces two felony charges of threatening a public official and disorderly conduct related to making false bomb threats, police said. The name of the official being threatened was not released.

Weddington was arrested July 11 in the 200 block of South Michigan Avenue, police said. He is expected in court Monday.
